IITaV invites you to our June 2016 Networking Event – “The Value of a Six: Dissecting a Cricketer’s Worth”. Presented by Professor Kayande, the talk will show how a player’s worth can be calibrated, and how that calibration can add value to a team’s ability to bid for players. This talk highlights the importance of understanding the data environment, with specific examples from the world of cricket.

Ujwal Kayande is Professor of Marketing and Director of the Centre for Business Analytics at Melbourne Business School, and a Fellow at the Institute for Sustainable Innovation & Growth at Fudan University, Shanghai. He has previously taught Marketing Analytics and Marketing Strategy at several leading business schools, including Penn State University, the Wharton School, Mannheim Business School, ESSEC, the Australian Graduate School of Management, and the Indian School of Business. Ujwal has won a number of teaching and research awards, including the 2015 Master of Business Analytics Teaching Excellence Award from Melbourne Business School, the 2015 EMAC-IJRM Best Paper Award from the European Marketing Academy, the Don Lehmann Award from the American Marketing Association, Distinguished Researcher Award from the Australia/NZ Marketing Academy, and the Smeal MBA Teaching Excellence Award from Penn State. He is on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Service Research, Journal of Business Research, and Customer Needs and Solutions. He has consulted on marketing analytics and strategy for a number of global blue-chip organisations, and has given keynotes at several academic and practitioner conferences including the 2015 World Marketing and Sales Forum. Ujwal currently also serves on the Advisory Boards of AirActive, an Australian fitness start-up, and Mobident, a mobile dentistry start-up in Bangalore, India. |
